MEET NARATANANT LAB
Safe Space for Thinkers, Researchers, Teachers.
THE LAB ITSELF
Since we are a budding research group, we are just getting started on setting up the lab. However, rest assured! We will be the first laboratory in Thailand that is specialized in ultrafast/non-linear optics and photonics!
See picture of the lab in two years on the right -->

Learn how to make the shortest phenomenon known to man (femtosecond laser pulse) with hands on guidance and find new applications together.
Look forward to assembling this setup yourself!
ABOUT DR. TANANT WARITANANT
An Educator with a Never Ending Pursuit for Knowledge
Learning and teaching are not only important, but defining aspects that let us grow as people. With a true dedication to sharing knowledge, I vow to educate and try my best to inspire countless people of all ages both inside and outside of the classroom.
STARTUP EXPERIENCE
Worked with a well-funded startup
During his time as a PI and eventually as the Head of Research at a Thai startup medical device company, CatheCare Co., LTD., he had the chance to put his logical thoughts and expertise to good use, providing inputs for experimental design, analysis, simulation, and product prototyping.

DUAL-WAVELENGTH OPERATION OF DIODE-PUMPED ND:YVO4 LASER
March, 2018
Dual-wavelength lasers or lasers with simultaneous output at two different frequencies have been at a focus of several recent studies due to multiple promising applications in biomedicine such as blood analysis, DNA sequencing, flow cytometry, microscopy, and optogenetics. Here, two dual-wavelength operation regimes of a diode-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser were demonstrated. The output power ratio of the dual-wavelength output could be freely adjusted. The highest total output power was 1.44 W under the dual-wavelength condition with 1:1 power ratio for both wavelength pairs. The slope efficiency was more than 16% and optical-to-optical efficiency more than 13% with respect to the absorbed pump power.
DISCRETELY SELECTABLE MULTI-WAVELENGTH OPERATION OF MODE-LOCKED ND:YVO4 LASER
We report on a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror mode -locked Nd:YVO4Nd:YVO4 laser operating at discretely selectable 1064.0, 1073.0, 1085.1 nm wavelengths with the average output powers of more than 2.2 W at each of the three wavelengths. The optical-to-optical efficiencies and the slope efficiencies were larger than 19% and 29% for each of the three wavelengths, and the pulse durations at the highest output powers were 13.1, 10.3, and 8.4 ps, respectively.

HIGH EFFICIENCY PASSIVELY MODE-LOCKED ND:YVO4 LASER WITH DIRECT IN-BAND PUMPING AT 914 NM
June, 2016
This paper report on the performance of a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror passively mode-locked Nd:YVO4 laser with in-band pumping at 914 nm and with the highest slope efficiency to date among the mode-locked Nd-lasers. The laser produced 6.7 W of output power with repetition rate of 87 MHz and pulse duration of 16 ps. The slope efficiency of 77.1% and the optical-to-optical efficiency of 60.7% were achieved.
